Ignition problem

2012 5.0 when I crank to start it cranks for several second before starting about 1every 5-10 starts. Had all ignition systems checked for voltage. All ok, fuel pump and system checked. Ok. Retested battery voltage with load, one bad cell. Replaced battery. Problem still occurring. Any ideas?

Could be fuel pressure leak down. The fuel pressure regulators can work fine but still let pressure leak down if the seat inside is worn or dirty. You'd have to have a gauge on for those times it doesn't start right away to know, and look at it every time before trying to start. When they start to fail they don't leak down every time.

The other end of the fuel system is the pump. Which also has a check valve inside that prevents pressure leak down. So, you'd need to catch it leaking down then figure out which end is leaking.

One idea. Do you have any pending codes?
