Ignition on chime driving me crazy!!!
I NEED to cancel the start-up chime. Please some psychiatric help here. Short order, I can not stand the Ford chime on ignition start-up. I put my key in and crank the engine and I hear this obnoxious nuclear-warning chime. I mean what is the purpose of this chime? The chime says..."You are starting your turck", or "You are about to drive your truck...? I just do not understand the utility of this obnoxious sound. I just want a quiet truck where I put the key in, crank it over and drive off. I am quite offended to hear the five-pulsed start-up chime. Give me a stinking break!!
Anyone know of a way to disable it?? I thought I had it disabled with the mod to cut the blue wire with the grey marker stripe, but it only disabled the door open with key in ignition chime. One down, five to go.
Please someone help me. I love my truck, but I just hate the start-up chime. Give me a break. If I do not find a way to cancel this start-up chime, I may have to have shoot extra ground squirrels this spring. Well, okay, I will shoot as many ground squirrels as I can anyway.

I asked my service manager to disable the "door dinger" and the "seatbelt dinger". He did.
On first turning on the ignition, there are three little chirps, repeated three or four times. Then silence. I suspect that's what you're talking about. Those don't bother me, so I didn't ask him to get rid of those too.
The seatbelt dinger disable is on page 191 of the 2012 F-150 Owner's Guide. I don't see a seperate door dinger disable, so I suspect the seatbelt dinger disable also disables the door dinger.

I did take off the lower steering wheel column cover and clipped the blue/grey wire for the key in ignition/door open chime. Now I want to disable the chime on start-up. Just seems to be no reason for the chime and it drives me crazy!
I have already done the seatbelt Beltminder chime.
Anyone have a fix? Anyone know of the wire to cut for this chime? And more importantly, will the snip affect any other system???
Help

Install a set of earmuffs on your headrest!
I agree, it's an annoying chime.
And it goes on for like 5-6 seconds or so, what is up with that?
Don't even get me started on the blinkers...

I like the chime. Think of it as a reminder that you are about to drive the most awesome truck on the road.
