Talking Normal Driving Tires - Need Recommendations

Hi all,

Most of the tire topics that came up in my search involved towing or off-roading... well, I dont do either of those...

my 2011 Platinum is a kept Lady....

Anyway, I got 30k off of my stock Perelli's so I guess that isnt too bad.. tires on new vehicles never seem to last like aftermarkets...

I am looking for a tire that rides smooth and quiet...

Thanks for your comments as always... this is a really great forum.

John

Michelin LTX M/S2 's. I am in the same boat. My Goodyear junk SRA's went 26k miles before they were shot. Getting new michelins tonight. Have always had good luck with them lasting a long, long time.

What kind of weather/climate do you encounter?
The Bridgestone Dueler Alenzas that came on my Plat aren't all that bad, however I'm not a Bridgestone fan.
I am a Michelin fan, and the LTX M/S2 is a hard tire to beat for highway use and the occasional off pavement needs. Sure they're a bit spendy, but with a 70k mile warranty they sure do have some life in them. Ran them in the 275/60/20 size on my prior truck and with nearly 40k on them when I traded that truck they still had plenty of life. I rotated them about every 7500 miles
The other option, and even less aggressive from Michelin is the Latitude Tour. The only thing I'm uncertain of is their availability in 20" sizes. My father runs these on his Pilot and they are wonderful highway tires. Quiet, smooth, handle rain cover roads very well and roll forever.

I just put a set of Michelin LTX MS2, 275/60/20 on my 2010 F150 screw 4x4. My truck is entirely highway use. These tires are great. Pricey, but in my opinion worth it.

Michelin m/s2 or the dueller alenza's

Can't go wrong with either one for a nice road/rare off road tire

General HTR's here. Not one complaint. Everything about these tires are great.

I have the Michelin M/S2's and love them, the Bridgestone Dueler Alenzas are also great. The Duelers are better on ice, my dad's truck has them.

Just highway? I was going to throw out the standard LTX MS/2, but maybe something a bit different like a BFG Rugged trail, or a Nitto Dura Grappler?

Cooper AT3 is a good road tire with a nice off-road looking tread pattern, good in dirt, wet, and pavement, and you can get them in LT version. Plus, they are relatively inexpensive and seem to be well liked. I've got the earlier version LTs (ATR), and they are holding up nicely and look great.

dang dude! Did you rotate them regularly? I just had a 40,000 miles service done on mine and my Perelli's are at 50% tread wear. I rotate and balance at each oil change.
