Default IAC Valve

I have a 2013 F-150 with the Eco-Boost. Upon start-up, after sitting overnight, I have to let the engine warm for at least 30 seconds or until after the fan kicks in, otherwise, if I put it in gear during idle, its very jerky. Additionally, I only get an average of 14mpg where others told me of 18 to 22 mpg on their trucks.
And there is no check engine light.

My mechanic believes it might be the IAC for the cold idling issues and possibly the O2 sensor for the mpg issue. Any ideas?

I have an idea, find a new mechanic, they don't use IAC's any more.

Thanks. I tried to do some research on buying a new one and they don't exist for that year. Other research showed that this issue is apparently common and Ford can't or won't touch it.

Clean the MAP sensors and throttle body, change plugs and boots if you haven't already do the small hole in the CAC mod if it hasn't been done as well. These things tend to solve a lot of people's problems. 14 mpg with a fair amount of city driving is quite normal.

I had similar symptoms with my truck when I 1st got it, I updated the calibration of the ECM and that fixed it. Your local dealer or independent shop with IDS can do the updating if there's a later version available. That's the 1st place to start any way.
