I think I found my next truck, but a couple of questions...
I have read a lot on these forums over the past 4-6 months and would like to think I am pretty aware of any issues to keep a watch for, but can anyone refresh my memory on the bigger items specific to the F150 to check pre-purchase? The truck is a 2013 XLT Ecoboost 4x4 with 65,000 miles, one-owner, recent maintenance includes front brake pads and rotors, rear pads, coolant flush, gear oil change, spark plugs and oil change. One thing the owner said that I wasn't aware of is that if you go too long between oil changes with the Ecoboost and allow the oil to get dirty, there can be some excessive play in the hydraulic timing chain tensioners until the engine builds up pressure. Is this true or am I being told a story to cover something up? Does it cause any real damage? He said because of this he never went more than 5,000 miles between oil changes and always used synthetic oil. He seems like he took good care of his truck, body was in great shape truck is clean. The price we have come to is $25,500, he says this is what he owes on the truck and can't go any lower, does this seem like a decent deal? Based on the condition of the truck vs what I see on dealer lots and what they are asking for those trucks I feel it's fair, may not be a steal but he has also put on some extras that I like and I feel are basically a bonus at this price. Any advice before I pull the trigger?

Sounds fair and the truck looks great I bought a used 2011 platinum 6.2 for 35k and it had 40k and some change on it. Why is he getting rid of it. Did he tow? As far as the oil I don't know much about ecoboost and a lot of guys run oil catch cans

He is getting rid of it because he took a new job which gives him a truck and allows him to use it for personal use, he said it didn't make sense to keep his truck and the payment. His old job paid him to drive his personal vehicle and he was on the road a lot so that is why its higher mileage for a '13, but mostly highway driving. Minimal towing of a bass boat was all he did. It's from Texas and rust free, which is also near impossible to find in Indiana.

One other thing, the ProComp wheels that are on the truck have a load rating of 2,200 pounds. Does anyone know what the factory 18" alloys are rated at? RAWR is only 3,850 so I guess with two wheels on the rear axle totaling a 4,400 pound weight rating I should still be OK.

I drove it on Sunday, I took that picture. It drove nice, nothing jumped out at me. Tracked straight, braked well and had some get up and go. Engine seemed smooth, just not sure of any Ecoboost peculiarities I need to watch out for. I like what he did to the truck, it fits my style and if I would buy a different stock truck at a similar price I wouldn't have money to do any mods like wheels and bumpers for a while, so that works out.

That sounds like a pretty good deal.
I picked up my 2011 4x4 EcoBoost Screw with 69k almost two years ago for that price with no extras.
I like that it is the 6.5' bed, love the bumpers, and I have had almost no problems from my truck that is now up to 105k.
