Default I need some help.

Getting a new truck tomorrow. Trying figure out if we should go with a f150 or f250. If I get a f150 it will be a screw with either the 5.0 or Eco. Just not sure if I should actually go with a Eco. Don't to much about them and I am really stuck on a nice v8 engine. What do y'all think. It kinda scares me a little bit to jump up to a 250 since I don't much about diesels. Just looking for some advice. I had a 09f150 5.4l screw 2wd. I loved it but I got rid of it like a idiot and went to dark side with 2013 silverado ltz. It's a nice truck but I really miss my 150. Can anyone give some pointers.

Best advice I can give... Is to test drive both, I wouldn't go with the 250 unless you do Alot of Heavy towing! But, its your choice to make! Choose the Truck that best fits your needs and Lifestyle...

How are you going to use the truck? The specifications will help you decide if you really NEED an F250.

Drive all of them and see yourself in all of your driving situations over a couple of years. Pick the one you want.

Good luck and post up what you decide to go with.

The best deal you can make, the F250 is gonna cost $10k more to start. If u don't need it to tow 14,000 lbs ( payload isn't that good on the F250 compared to the F150) then it's just a personal preference.

The diesel isn't tough to maintain, just more things ya have to keep up with ( 2 fuel filter changes, DEF, 13 qts of oil, WIF filter draining each month, etc.

Go drive em.

Ask what the price is for a new fuel pump for an F 150 5.0 and an F 250 Diesel....if you don't regularly tow 7 tons, that should help you make up your mind rather quickly.
I think that unless you HAVE to have a diesel because you are going to work the crud out of it, the maintenance, price of fuel, the powdered urine (yes....powdered PEE!) that you have to refill or be stranded would keep me from EVER considering one for a daily driver.

Alright guys I think you have me sold on not getting a 250. How bout between a Eco or a 5.0. I know that people have there issues with both. My biggest thing is if the Eco is gonna make it in the long haul.

If your LTZ has the 6.0 l go with the 6.2 and put a smile on your face. If it only has the 5.3 go with a 5.0 . If you don't need the sound of a v8 go with the Eco. If you just need the power of a 5.3 in your new Ford get the 3.7

If you live in the South and have high humidity go with the 5.0 See some of the posts about The 3.7 engine shuddering at 55-60MPH and loss of power under hard acceleration with the the Eco...I drove both before buying this past April and am very satisfied with the 5.0 Had a 5.3L GMC prior and while the 5.3 would easily outgun the 5.0 during hwy acceleration still like the 5.0 better overall. Good Luck

I say test drive both and get whatever one you think drives the best. I was amazed at how smooth, quiet and powerful the eco was compared to the 5.0. So i bought the eco. Others may prefer the 5.0. Don't worry about fuel economy they will be virtually the same. Also, the eco may be better if you plan to do a lot of towing. Good luck and enjoy the new ride.
