Some of you guys need to pick better friends. I don't have many that ask, but all of my friends I've known for 15-30 years and I have keys to their house and vice-versa. I have 3 friends that went in with me on 750 acres and a house to share, so loaning someone a truck is not a biggy.

I get that some may have friends that are 18-20 or whatever, but eventually you get that it's just a truck. Same as thousands you see on the road just like it.

If I know the person is conscientious and I know them personally, no problem - depending what they want to do with it, of course. However, if I feel I don't want to borrow someone my wheels, I can always just say they have to be listed on my insurance policy here in alberta and there could be fees for that so maybe a rental would be cheaper and more suitable.

Not trying to offended you because I have a couple friends I Truly whole heartedly believe would never bail on what they did. But when things happen you'd be surprised at who bails.

I will usually let anybody ( family, friends) borrow my truck if they need it. I just tell them to let me use their car while they have mine. After all, it's only a machine.

My buddy says that the best thing in a mans life is when his buddy or neighbor buys a truck.

Honestly there are only a few things I won't let anyone borrow of mine. My firearms, dog, bikes, wife...
Naw...scratch that last one. If someone is gonna remove my wife from my AO, the least they could do is KEEP her. No borrowing, test drives or the like.
So just my weapons, my dog, and my bikes.
Yep...that'll do it.

I got the "can I borrow your truck" phone call today! But for me it depends on who it is. I'd rather help the person move or what ever it is then give them my truck. But this time I said yes. It was my dad and he needs it for a few days to move. The great part is, he didn't ask me to help move and I get his 2013 Mustang GT/CS for the week. So works for me.

Ill help any day. However, I will be there with my truck. Not just let someone take it and treat it like a rental.
