Finally, can you explain “bake the lights open” and what the “projectors” are? Please forgive my ignorance.
Thanks kindly to all. BN

Also, i am not 100% sure what CBIs are or where best to get them if I went the “easy” route? Can someone point me in the right direction - and maybe to a description or video of how to install? I may just have a mechanic do it if it’s complicated.

Thats if you just want to replace your bulbs.
"Retrofitting" is what its called when you open up your headlights and either upgrade the projector (the part where your bulb fits into and projects the light, hence the name) or install a projector in a halogen based headlight. You put your headlight in an oven for so many minutes and a certain temp to warm up the sealant and then you pry apart the clear lense from the rest of the housing. Then you can upgrade the projector, in the case of these headlights, the EVOXR projector will bolt right up and can be found on the same website I linked above.
Google F150 retrofit and also search on here. Many have done it.

This thread needs to walk a calm path. If you insult other members and nationalities, you're in for a bad time. And for those who like to egg it on, just ignore it instead and your life will be easier.
Now get back to the topic at hand and don't keep dirtying up the thread with useless bigotry.

I'm about to retrofit my headlights with C-bar switchbacks probably next weekend. i got all the parts needed during black friday but haven't had the time. swapping out OEM projectors for EvoX-R 2.0 but for now will be leaving the stock bulbs since they fit. will probably get some new ones soon.

So I took a long trip to WA yesterday. Left at 0300 in the dark. Low beams along with fog lights put a good amount of light in front of the truck. High beams are useless.
I was having to kick my light bar on for areas where I needed High beam light.
If I went with a different LED bulb, would I have similar results?

Find a set of cheap ebay headlight housings and retrofit bi-xenons into those. Then you dont have to worry about damaging your stock housing and can swap em back if you ever need to. This is what I did with my jeep. I got a cheap set of $45 Chinese knockoff headlights since I didnt care about the performance of the housings themselves.

I mean the issue probably isnt the light output of the bulbs, but where the reflectors send that light. Thats where a good set of bi-xenons will kick the crap out of replacement bulbs.

I don't ever recommend ebay headlights but these seem about as OEM look as they can get. I remember seeing a thread on here about people buying these so i know it's on here somewhere. they look fairly easy to retro a good set of actual HID projectors. obviously you'll need ballast, bulbs, projectors and a relay but without using your own OEM set - these seem easy to use.
the 2013-2014 OEM HID projectors can direct bolt in EvoX-R HID projectors so i would assume these can be an easy swap as well.

I wonder how well these halogen projectors would work with a decent halogen bulb? I have halogen projectors on my '17 Escape and they really don't do too bad of a job. Not LED, not HID, but a good halogen projector and much better than the halogen reflectors in my F-150 (which suck big time). And, not as costly as a full blown HID setup.
