Hmmmmmmmmm. Old man reminiscing. My first new car was a 1961 Fairlane 2-door V8 with stick shift + overdrive tranny. I bought it the day I graduated from college. Added the front fender trim from a Fairlane 500. Drove it from west Texas to Bangor Maine for my first active duty Air Force assignment. But I soon realized I couldn't afford the payments on second lieutenant's pay, so I traded it for a 1959 Morris Minor.

Don't you wish you could have that car today for what it cost new then? 61 Fairlane was a awesome car! Amazing how simple those cars are, but they still hauled our *****e$ all over the country without a single computer chip or hell even an FM radio. LOL
