It's not necessarily bad. If the dvd player at walmart has all the features you want and is cheaper then similar dvd players you can find anywhere else, then it offers you the best value and is a good purchase. I don't think the manufactures make worse quality products, I think they just leave features out.

It's just important to realize this when doing comparison shopping. Sometimes the features that are left out on the walmart product are something you might use (like 2 HDMI inputs on a TV instead of 4). if you only are ever going to hook up 2 devices, then the walmart TV would be fine, but if you needed more devices and didn't realize till after you bought the TV that the walmart version only had 2, you might regret not spending the extra $20 for the best-buy one.
