My guess is it's cleaned about once every 5 years.

What's wrong with no smell?? My sister and my in-laws use so called "air fresheners" always make you reek the rest of the day.

Yes, people didn't like my comment above, but even their responses prove my point. All these do is give you different odors. Coming from a family with LOTS of sensitivity and allergies to scents both natural and synthetic, I can tell you that clean is the lack of odor. Any odor.
