Default I got 5stared today!!

I have an 11' screw 4x4 xlt 5.0, I have a k&n cai, flowmaster sido and 275-70-18 trail grapplers, I ordered sct x3 tuner with 3 of mikes custom tunes the 87 tow haul, 93 tow haul, and 93 race, I got it in 3 days in the mail, awesome service, so far all I have tried is the 93 race and all I can say is holy schnikeys... the truck is totally different, the throttle response is amazing, the power downlow is tremendous and the shifting is awesome even with my big trail grapplers it will "bark" second gear, I have ran the older programers, on my 98 ford I put a hypertech on it back in like 2001 and on my dads 06 ford he put a diablo sport on it I think back in 2008 and I couldnt really tell a difference, so I thought the new sct was mostly hype, but I was wrong this is well worth the money and I highly recommend it, and 5star tuning as well, im thinking about ordering johnny lightning "ghost cam" tune and trying that as well..

Haha when I added my 5star tunes, it was quite the experience. I couldn't stop grinning ear to ear....and still get a kick out of it every time I drive the truck. Love it!

I'm new to these tuners so please forgive me. I just bought a 2012 XLT 5.0 last month. It's still stock. Would I benefit much from a tuner if I haven't replaced the exhaust or added a CAI? Thanks in advance

Would like to know ths as well. I'm wanting the tune to wake my 5.0 up, especially with 80 lb. wheels/tires at each corner.

Part of that amazing low end power is from commanding high part throttle values, ie you give the vehicle 5% or so throttle, and the tune commands 25-30% throttle. You don't have that much more power, you are just opening the throttle a lot more at any given throttle position. Now, the added timing for the higher octane is adding more power down low, but a lot of it is because the throttle is opening a lot more than stock. Also, hence the fast throttle response.
Glad you like your tunes!

yea I read that about the throttle values on the 5star website, and yea lol its very peppy off of idle now, I didnt tell my wife I got the programmer and she drove it today, when she pulled out she lunged the truck 3 or 4 times lol she thought somethin was wrong, honestly its so much more peppy you really have to kinda learn how to pull out normally, anybody know the exact hp #s for these tunes??
