2013 XL,

1)I don't like the parking lights staying on after leaving my truck, how can I turn it off? ( I looked at OM, did not see it in settings)

2) I don't like the ford commercial playing on my dashboard on start up, how do I get rid of that?

3) I don't like the fact a blown brake light can keep the truck stuck in Park, (page 213 OM) How do I stop that?

This is a short list of gripes about this truck. I'm just getting started.

Or maybe don't buy a truck you hate in the first place?

Heyyy let's all find the guy who blew a few thousand dollars on a truck without doing the least bit of research on it first and then blames the maker...

Nice that the parking lights stay on when parking in the garage at night. When hunting, all of my lights go out as soon as I lock the truck. Do yours do the same?

1) Clip the wires / remove the bulbs.

2) Find the controller for the instrument panel and locate the chip that holds its operating system. Decompile it. Remove the code segment calling the commercial or comment those lines out, or change the variable that plays the commercial to either "0" or "false". Recompile. Reflash chip. Pray that it works and that Ford doesn't have a trusted platform module installed to detect the change in configuration.

3) a. Install a shift linkage that manually readjusts the gears and friction discs.
b. Jump the brake light contacts or use a dummy load.
c. Make sure your brake lights aren't out.

1) The park light go out as soon as you lock it with the fob.

2) No way to turn that off, Ford does not want you to forget that you are driving a Ford Tough truck.

3) A burnt out bulb will not prevent you from shifting from P.
A shorted out bulb (very rare) and burnt fuse will. If that happens, remove the offending bulb and replace the burnt fuse, there are two spare fuses in the fuse box.

Just wait until your rear defroster stops working or your AC start smelling like manure.
