Haha nice. My 10 Scab 4.6 3v gets 17.8 no matter what I do except when I go off roading. When off roading the lowest I got it to was 7.8 mpg. Lol. Not bad considering my last truck got 9 mpg highway or city driving.

I filled up and drove above 3 miles home through town. Three traffic lights and a stop sign, also a 1/2 mile slight uphill grade. Just to to see what it would do. I barely touched the gas pedal on the trip and rolled into the driveway at 26MPG.

I couldnt stand to drive like that all the time, we usually get 17 - 18 MPG around town.

For some reason these trucks are fuel efficient while moving, but drink way too much gas while idle. Sit at a long light, drive thru, or just remote starting your gas can destroy your gas mileage in a heart beat.

You should watch the MPG display on my Mustang GT while it idles. It'll make you either drive off or turn the car off.

For the last two posters..... What kind of MPG do you expect to get when you are sitting still?

I get Zero Point Zero in every vehicle I own.

This engine is very sensitive to the weight of one's right foot. I have been playing with driving styles and mileage results vary wildly.

Totally true. I had a guy walk up to me at the pumps and ask me how the gas mileage was on the EB, and I told him, "It will totally depend on you."

I can get 16mpg in city driving any day of the week, if I think about it while I'm driving. Normally (not thinking about it) I get 14mpg.

On the highway, I've achieved 23.5mpg at 70mph. But usually I'm not watching my right foot and I get more like 19-20mpg at 70mph.

OK.....I'll this put this out there (and my flame suit is ready if needed) ......I'm betting that in all of the EB trucks here whose owners complain about crappy mileage.....those of us getting 22 and better could climb into their trucks and replicate our results.
There is a 10 mile long arterial here where all the lights are synchronized. If you travel at exactly 27 mph after accelerating slowly from the first light, you will make EVERY light without having to slow down or even hit your brakes.
Every day I see vehicles traveling 35 mph between these lights, braking hard for every red light, coming to a full stop 18 times, and then accelerating hard back up to 35 ......repeat as needed......
Is driving 27 mph exciting? Nope.....but my mpg and my passengers sure appreciate the nice smooth ride.....

Id take that bet in a heartbeat. There's no way my 157" loaded lariat supercrew 4x4 is getting an average of 22mpg in the city non matter how you drive it. I tried babying mine for a few months. Best tank I got was 18.5. I've since said to hell w/ it and average 15.5 now. Still better than my '04 Ram which averaged 14.
