After the weighted test drive, I got under the truck to measure the springs, to see if a 2010 spring would fit (the third dealer told me they were not the same springs). While under there, I looked at the driveshaft and rear end again. If the output shaft and the centerline of the rear end are supposed to be parallel, I may have found the problem. The driveshaft and rear end are almost perfectly in line. Does that make sense?

After measuring the spring, I think it's identical, in size to the 2010 springs, and I've located a set of those, for the worst case scenario.

Just PM'd you on some help brother!

Now maybe it's the springs, or the pinion angle. Man, they messed up a lot of pinions if all the other ones on the lot had this same problem.
I've owned more than a few trucks - 1995 F250, 2000 Chevrolet S10, 2002 Dodge Ram 1500, 2004 F150, and now my 2013 F150.

The 2013 F150 is the *ONLY* truck that rides as unsettled as it did. I expect it to ride like a truck, but not to oscillate at speeds above 65mph as if it had an unbalanced shaft (which it does not) or a tire out of round or unbalanced (which it does not). Sure, it's possible that Ford has put out a substandard product; all we're trying to do is force their hand, individually or as a group of people.

You can equate it to a 'rough truck ride' if you'd like, and consider yourself superior in intellect. Meanwhile, the rest of us will attempt to actually isolate the issue.

I guess I'll wade in(a little) here. My '13 FX4 rides like crap as well( yes, I've owned literally dozens of different trucks), and while I don't have any vibration problems, I think Ford REALLY overshocked these trucks. The only thing I ever owned that rode close to as lousy as this truck, was a Toyota Tacoma Prerunner- also due to overshocking. I however, knew what I was getting into when I bought it(the F150), so I guess I'm OK with it as it is. I'll just make sure and put on the most candy-as_ed shocks I can find when I replace 'em.

"overshocked" - meaning, using a shock that's stiffer than required?

I'm wondering because you roll on 20's could be the major issue?... because my 14 XLT has 18's and I like the ride. Firm but not harsch, especially on decent roads?

My '14 is a Lariat and it has 20's. I got to tell you, it is one of the best riding vehicles, not just trucks. Sure it isn't a Cadillac (We had an '06 CTS) but it is just a great ride. Most of the people that I have read about with this issue have had the FX4 models. I know there have been some other models but a lot of FX4's. Maybe it is something with their tires and suspension? Almost all that I have read about were tire or wheel related. That's why I asked earlier in this thread to try a friends/Family's wheels and tires if he could. I know he said the dealer did do it but did they? Some dealers will tell you anything. And did they use another FX4 that may still have had issues? If he could get a set from a truck without the known problem I think it would at least rule his wheels/tires for sure. I wish Texas all the best and hope he can get it figured out so he can really enjoy his truck like I do.

My last truck (2010 F150 2wd Lariat) had 22" wheels and 305/40 tires. Yes it was rough, but it's a different kind of rough ... like feeling every bump in the road rough; more sports car like. That kind of rough is what I expect out of any truck. Especially one that's a "sports" model.

It's a long shot but cheap enough to try, dynabeads. I use them in my motorcycle as well as my truck and neither one vibrate at any speed, sometimes a tire/wheel assembly can balance out on a machine but still vibrate, the way dynabeads work is they constantly or dynamically balance out the rotating assembly while you drive, only thing is you will have to dislodge the tire bead from the rim to get them inside as the TPMS stems we have do not have a big enough hole to get them in.

Here's where I buy mine from. http://www.innovativebalancing.com/index.php
