Self-righteous sympathy grabbing, nice, I knew that was where the original picture comment was headed.....
Anyhow, for all of those folks who think accelerating like a turtle helps, if you try actually testing the theory, you will find that it take roughly the same amount of fuel to get your truck up the a given speed, and you can either do it slowly, or quickly.
Without getting to long winded, the 2 big killers of mileage are high cruising speed, and braking. As in any braking. When you hit the brakes, you convert the kinetic energy of the moving truck into heat, effectively wasting the fuel used to accelerate. Within reason, the best way to improve mileage on new vehicles equipped with aggressive deceleration fuel cutoff, is the coast down, and cruise at lower speeds.
Try it, if you have a scangauge, accelerate slowly the length of a city block, and then brake slightly harder than normal to stop at the end of the block, record fuel used. Turn around, floor it up to speed, cruise, and then allow the truck to coast to a stop, you'll be very surprised with the result. That should be on myth-busters.

If you are getting 10, something is wrong or you've made some bigger changes to the truck than I have
The EB gets around 10 mpg because it is in the boost while towing which burns more fuel.

There are several threads on here about it and how the 5.0 gets the same or better towing.

i have the 4.6 3V and get 15 in city and 18-20 on high way!

Default Ecco FX4 Fuel gauges

I understand what the gentleman means abt the gauge but I agree more so with you. I do like the gauge. I just got the truck and I have been able to avg around 15+ around town which I think is fantastic for the FX4 with the 3,73. ECCO. If i get around 18 on a long open road trip i will be even happier.

I like the off-road app most the time, i just think it looks cool

I had problems with the turn signals... Sometimes when I would signal to pull out to pass, I would hit the signal a little too hard and get it stuck into left turn, then when I push the control right to shut it off, push it to hard, overshoot and now it's locked into a hard right turn. Once in a while, flipping back and forth between left and right turns before I could manage to get it calmed down in the neutral position.

Then I discovered...... (Although it would have been nice if they would have put this in the owner's manual)

If you overdo it and push the signal into the full turn position, just push it again in the same direction and it cancels and returns immediately to neutral! Life is so much better now with that little annoyance gone.....

I said this same thing in regards to his 17.5 all around statement. I am happy when it gets near 16mpg. If he truly is getting 17.5 I want to know what city he drives in. Because I'm in a small town and don't have stop and go traffic and barely touch 16.

OCD!!!!

Seeing this display the things the OP spoke about used to bother me... I never have it on that screen anymore. About every week, i'll switch over to the TRIP (A) and see what the mpg is and the stats.

But you'll drive yourself crazy if you drive your truck watching that # go up and down.. I just drive the truck i want.....
