It dawned on me to check dtc's and there was a couple for the turn signal circuit. as soon as I cleared them, everything was working great again. Never needed to disable fast blink. From my experience and research on the forum, these truck do not use relays for the vehicle turn signals, just for the trailer harness. The computer determines the blinking.
I checked my DTC's and didn't have any unfortunately. I use Torque for monitoring and it can check DTC's and Ready/Not Ready lights, but then Forscan as well which of course checks much more. Neither of which showed any errors or codes. It would have been nice for it to have been something that easy though

I have this same problem with my 2016. Intermittent fast flashing with left turn signal. I don’t see where anyone found a solution. Has anyone figured this out?

Yes. I turned off the fast flash option in Forscan for both front and rear blinkers and have never had the issue again. All of them work perfectly now and have been since I did that.

I just had hyper flash once last night. And I have all factory bulbs. It may actually be telling me one is burned out! What are the odds of getting the signal for the actual reason it was designed? Million to one, I'd say.

Thanks. I’ll do my research on the Forscan solution.

Thanks TJPlatinumEB for sharing this info.

I just bought a 2013 F150 XLT and minutes after driving it off the dealers lot the left blinkers went into hyperflash.

Being an old Ford guy, I was not aware that these trucks did not have flasher relays, I figured it was just low on blinker fluid.

I am currently having an issue with hyper flash. I installed Diode Dynamic LED switchbacks, resistors and turned off the hyper flash with Forscan. Issue I'm having is they blink normal for a couple times then go full retard and blink fast and randomly. I installed a cheap pair of switchback and they work flawlessly. I'm not sure if this is a bulb issue or what but its confusing as hell. I've been reading a bunch of threads on here about hyper flash and it seems all the usual issues that could cause it I have addressed. I may put their normal turn signal bulbs in no switchbacks and see if that helps. Or does anyone else have any other suggestions?

Other than the hyper flash itself, are there any known adverse affects to the blinkers and/ or the electrical system that are caused by the hyper flash?

Hyperflash is an intended action designed by Ford. (and every other mfgr) It tells you that a bulb is burned out.

Thanks Spiky. That was the fist thing I thought and checked when the hyper flash started, but I do not have a burned out bulb.
