How to: program remote start into instrument cluster and BCM with forscan.

Hi all, Was wondering if anyone knew if the BCM can be altered to allow for a quicker start time (delay start time)? I have a 12volt.solutions remote start and it is taking 15-20 seconds to actually start the vehicle once I click on the FOB as required. The manufacturer 12volt.solutions claims that the "delay in start time is controller by the BCM". Thanks in advance for any feedback.

I have the OEM Remot start, there is a 1-2 second delay, but that is about it. I have not run across anything in the BCM that delays the start time.

Hi all I thought I would do a quick how to. None of the info below is mine but rather then dig through the pages of forscan for a common question. Below is a quick how to to enable the remote start in the BCM for 11-14 f-150's and also how to get the "Remote Start" menu to show up in your instrument cluster (LCD ones only).
Thank N3UP for this info:
after installing the R/S parts, go into the BCM and look for line 726-19-01 and change the hex from 0047 to 0148 and write.
Then go into the ICP AS BUILT list and find 720-01-02.
enter one of the following depending on options:
Basic RS Menu (Climate control{ac/heat}{Front Defrost})(Timeout)(Quiet Start)
xxxx xF0x xx$$
Basic RS Menu + Rear Defrost in Climate control
xxxx xF2x xx$$
Full RS Menu (all of the above plus seats)
xxxx xFEx xx$$
Now you have remote start!
again this is NOT my info I got all of this through the Forscan applications thread again special thanks to N3UP!

The remote start seemed to work great for a couple weeks, then I stopped getting a horn honk with a double lock button press on the key fob all of a sudden. I didn't dig into the issue, and the other day I came out to my truck after remote starting it at work, and it had shut off on me. When I started the truck, none of my gauges were reading anything, but I was able to drive it home. I had no power steering, none of the buttons on the steering wheel would do anything, no information of any kind on the cluster other than the non working gauges were illuminated. the truck did not even register that i was in gear. I drove it home despite this, and when I shut the truck off it now wont even crank. I'm wondering if me putting that code in improperly caused this issue? Its the only thing I can think of that I did differently than anyone else, and I'm not able to find anything after searching google or any of the forums for similar issues.
They may not even be related, but that's the only thing that has changed on my truck.

Hi guys, my kit came with keys that need to be cut. Do I have to go to the dealer for that or can I take them to a store like Walmart or Home Depot to get them cut. I plan to program them myself as I go through the process of enabling the remote start features.

Home Depot should be able to cut them. I cut my own at work as we have a machine.
