I have a 2010 f150 5.4L I experiencing a rough idle after driving the truck for a short distance and then coming to a stop. It feels like it is idling down to low. It only does this a few times a week and straightens itself out after giving it a little bit of throttle. It has not tossed any check engine lights... Any input would be appriciated.

JRyellowFX4, my recently traded '10 STX did the same thing for many miles. Check out my posts made and you may see something about it. It was after warmed up , idle in gear..it was especially noticeable with the AC on in summer. I posted in several different forums, took to dealership...never really got a "final solution" One thing I did , which helped a lot, was to gap my plugs down to recommended gap set by plug builder, not to Ford spec. I believe that, if you use Motorcraft plugs, use the Ford recommended gap, if you use another brand, find out the recommended gap for those plugs, and use that. I think..and hope this will help.

I had an 04 with the 5.4l 3v and it also developed rough idle in gear when engine was hot and I cleaned the throttle body and mass airflow sensor with like named cleaners and it fix it right up and it never idled like that again. Cheap and easy to do yourself. Hope that helps you.
