How many are on the sidelines....waiting/watching?

I appreciate all of the posts, and generally tend to agree about taking the plunge. No one manufacturer does it all right. Admitedly, I have been focused on a few of the longer threads about both shudder issues and started getting cold feet. I also know that people who post here represent a small sample of the F150 population, and there are many satisfied customers out there.
My Dad appears to have been able to address his axle wrap/shudder issue (if that is in fact what the problem is) with a Road King kit, although it hasn't been tested yet under any sort of towing scenario. His shudder was pretty significant, and I was initially disappointed to hear about the same problem happening several MYs later.
I also wouldn't let the paint thing alone deter me from buying the truck, was just throwing out ideas of the more recent prevailing complaints to see if I'm being overly **** about some of this stuff....I probably am :-)
As I stated before, these are excellent trucks, and it's the only truck I'm considering. I want to see Ford continue to do well and offer great products, I do think they are well ahead of the pack.

I just ordered a 2012 Screw Platinum with a 6.5 bed. "Problems" with these trucks didn't sway me in the least. With 100,000 + plus Eco's on the road, a few problems are not the majority. I know 5 guys who have these trucks and not one has had any problems whatsoever and all are extremely happy. I'm 35 years + with GM trucks so this was a big step for me to switch brands. Just go for it.
I just ordered my first Ford. I've been driving a GM product since I was 16. I did see the issues mentioned in this forum, but all major forums regardless of brand have a number of issues brought up. Not everyone posts about the good things in their trucks, but the few that post about problems get the most attention.
IMO, the Ford offered the best for my money. I would have stayed with GM if they had the interior feel of the ford and a engine with the same power/mpg ratings as the EB...

I too had Chevy/Gmc for 10 yrs prior. I'm at almost 5k miles and am loving every second of it. It's more spacious, tows better, faster, and gets better mpg than my last two Chevys. Plus has better gadgets (sync, USB, dash, remote start) with whatever issues rise up I'll address them.. Every truck has an issue or two there is no way I'd trade the dealership back for my old truck.. It would be like an old western. "you can have my ecoboost when you pry it from my cold dead fingers!!! Lol
