How many miles test driving before shipping to dealer?
Well... I've got the email this morning after waiting since June 21st for an Ecoboost Lariat that now is in the dealer's lot. Knowing how particular I was, message had the assurances of how no one other than the tech has or will drive it and they will keep it inside, etc. But here is the part made me wonder;
Then, continues to say that my rebates/incentives are now at $4,750 if I were to choose to finance through Ford. It is $1,000 higher then when I have ordered it.
It was built at Dearborn and trained to a nearby port and trucked to the dealership 70 miles away. I have not asked yet what does "a couple of hours driving" mean. Does anyone know if this is really what happens as it was stated? I read on previous posts that people had anything in between two miles to 500 miles when they took delivery but majority at around 7-15 miles. Higher mileage ones already knew that there was a transfer involved. It is fine if it is driven but I do not believe that they test drive each special order truck for a couple of hours. The kicker is I won't be able to go before next weekend.

I have no idea what all that means. I ordered my 2012 from a dealer 100 miles out of Phoenix on 6/18. I picked it up on 8/10 with 12.9 miles on it. So much for test driving special order retail vehicles.

Look for one of these stickers on the windshield just below the rearview mirror. (Before it is Prepped and removed) What was done in 33 miles I have no idea? This was on a 2012.
