I will park in no man's land and when I return to my truck there is that beat up old car parked beside of me. I hate to even park under trees with the sap dripping. Another thing that bugs the h_ll out of me is people who ride in my truck want to play with all the buttons and open the glove box. Enuff said on my part.....................

I will not park next to a beater or a PLDB as a general rule but it sometimes doesn't matter where I park. The PLDB still manage to park next to me when I'm not looking.

I park way out in no mans land. I will always park next to an island if there is a spot like that available so that only one person can park next to me. My neighbor dented my truck 2 months after I bought it, luckily he is a great guy and told me what happened. I know a good paintless dent guy and he fixed it for $100 that my neighbor paid for. Ever since then I am extra careful where I park.

I've always parked really far away, no matter how nice of a vehicle I drive. Now with the new truck I'm even worse. I have no problem taking up a couple of spots if there is plenty of room at the back of the lot. Seems like now it's hard to fit in most parking spots. It's like they assume everyone is driving a smart car with how narrow they paint the lines. As most have said too, the little extra walking isn't a bad thing and only adds a minute at most. Well worth the time to try to keep the vehicle out of harm's way.

The parking lot where I work is a nightmare. Not many extra spots so it's a crapshoot there.

I carefully survey the parking lot in question, observe wind speed and direction and the placement of current vehicles in the lot. Then I like to park on the highest point of the lot to avoid runaway carts and to the windward side so as to avoid the wind-driven stray carts. I always keep an umbrella in the truck, so the wife can't use the "I'm going to get wet walking to the store" excuse. Parking in a remote spot in the employee area is also a good bet.

I am also guilty of parking out in left field when having to go shopping with my baby. My wife gets aggravated because i case out the parking lot first to find the best spot. And if i get an attitude from her i just simply say this is why truck is still MINT and your car looks the way it does!! The one good advantage I and most of us have is are trucks sit much higher than most cars so most of the time if there is a chance someones door will swing and hit something it will more than likely be the running boards.

My wife thinks I'm OCD about my truck bc I too park in the middle of no where. Sometimes I'll drop her off at the door just so I don't have to hear about it. But it almost never fails, I'm 10 spots from anyone only to walk out and find some idiot parked right next to me. I try to protect my investment as I don't need someone who's too lazy to put a cart away to help depreciate my truck more than it already does.

I park as far away as I can from any other vehicles in the parking lot, as my fiancé says when I drive you better where comfortable shoes, because its going to be a hike to the store. Haha

I always park on the back side of no where, my wife hates it! I ask her if she wants me to drop her off at the door? She says, no I'll walk with you?? Whats Up With That??

Surprisingly, the rent car got lucky - didn't get a scratch on it the whole week! With my luck, if I had taken my truck, the parking garage would decided it was a good time collapse!
LOL! I'm laughing because my new truck is due in this coming Friday, but my Jury Duty starts 3 days later. I've already reserved a rental car to drive while I have Jury Duty because I don't want my new truck with the dealer plates and temporary tags advertising it as a new truck in the worst part of town! Why is it the court house has to be in the worst part of town? The rental car will only cost me $249, I call that cheap insurance.

Just a short parking garage story: One day I was sitting in my car, in a medical building parking garage, I was waiting for my wife. While I sat there I was three difference instances of people letting their doors hit other cars. And in one case the elderly women driver actually backed into a car, then drove off. All in the same hour. I hate parking garages.
