On my 08 a squirrel made a nest in the little open part under the air filter through my gotts mod.

Maybe this squirrel started smoking fatties in there, that's why your Eco eats alot of gas and may seem pretty slow and relaxed when you put your foot into it, just throwing that out there.

My truck and my wifes car always have debris in the bottom of the airbox. I suck it out with a shop vac when im changing filters. Some of the better quick oil change shops do the same. Its common
