I just recently had the new sync update done at the delership on my 2013 FX4 with navigation. My text messages are showing up on my sync navigation screen when the come in. I dont want my passengers to see my text messages. I have been through all the settings trying to turn this feature off with no luck. Does anyone know how to turn this feature off? Thanks.

What phone do you have? When I first setup my phone with Sync it asked me I wanted to give Sync access to my messages, I just hit no and do not ask again. I have the S4 now, but I've had the same experience with 3 different Android phones so far. Hope that helps.

When I bought my truck the messages never showed up. One day sync reset itself and my messages started popping up, after I did the sync update my messages stopped again.

It's you said that. I'm a happily faithful married man, every time I get a text in the truck the wife's alway who's that, after the texts started popping up she didn't have to ask that question which was great. Now that try don't show up any more she started asking again.

This is odd. Most people can't get it to work! I you just want to disable altogether, turn off notifications under your Bluetooth settings for the sync connection in your phone. My texts don't work unless that is turned on.

I would delete it from the truck and then unpair/delete via the phone as well and redo it. When you repair and it asks for permission, deny it.

But when a message pops up on the screen, you still have to select Listen or Ignore or something. It doesn't show the actual message on the screen unless you push a button to allow it to do that.

I turned off notifications under Bluetooth settings for the sync connection on my I phone, and it worked. Thanks for the helpful info.

Heck, I've been wondering how to get my messages to pop up on my screen. I figured SYNC just wasn't that compatible with the Iphone 5.
