The alarm is normal when you physically turn the key in the lock. If you start the truck immediately, should be no alarm. I mean, assuming you have a 12th gen F150.

There could be a few different things wrong that block your fob from working. Do the controls on the passenger door work?

I would have thought 2011 and 2013 are the same. It's in my manual, and service manual. Check it out.

I don’t have an answer, but my driver door wouldn’t lock with the remote or the door switch. I checked the door jamb wires (common failure on the driver side rear door) and it looked ok. I bought a new door lock actuator, but out of the blue, everything is now working properly. I’ll wait until it stops working permanently and then replace it.
