Wind,Speed and Weight are the factors. I almost never exceed 60mph and only use Tow Haul on steep downgrades. Typically the best I can do is 10-12.5. Nothing out there does much better when towing. I have never tried Premium fuel so possibly that might make a difference. A light foot goes along way. Coast when possible and when in town anticipate red lights and coast to them.

8-9 @ 70 with or without weight. 7.5' wide X 29' long. Weights 2500 unloaded. OAH is 6' inside the trailer so as enclosed trailers go it's not that tall or wide. Pretty disappointed but looks to be the number. Power is good so I guess I'll live with it. D-max was 3-4 MPG better with better power but tired of diesel and the cost. With gas now $1.20 less than diesel the overall spend is equal to slightly less and the maintenance is less. I can't see putting in premium and spending $.50+ more per gallon to gain 1 MPG. Doesn't pencil out IMHO. That and trading my 05 D-max for a 14 D-max would have cost me another $15-18K vs the EB.

I for one am extremely pleased with the fuel mileage and power the Ecoboost puts down. I almost pulled the trigger on a diesel, ...so glad I didn't . This truck just pulls like a diesel and I don't have to pay through the a** for maintenance or urea fluid!

Diesels are becoming less and less of an economic bonus. Considering the fuel cost, the added purchase and maintenance costs, if you are going to tow less than 10K, the EB is great choice. Even Dodge's Ecodiesel costs almost four times what the EB does as an option price. And it is a weak sister compared to the EB.
Those tow ratings for the top 1 ton diesels at 32K are impressive though......16 tons, and what do you get?

Unless you tow many, many miles a year, I don't think there has been any economic advantage to a diesel pickup for years. I loved my '06 Duramax, but it certainly wasn't cheaper to drive than the gas trucks I've had before and since. In fact, my EB gets about 1 mpg better for my general commuting compared to the Duramax, and the EB gets a couple mpg better on long freeway trips to boot (the Dmax never broke 20 for an entire tank (19.8 was the best ever), while the EB has been right at 22 mpg for an entire tank 2 times this year).

But there is something about towing with a big diesel that you can't put a price tag on! My EB moves my 6500 travel trailer along just fine. But I would never own or tow heavy with a 1 ton that wasn't a diesel.

Where do you guys come up with this stuff? Oil change is roughly $70, def fluid is roughly $20 every 5-6000miles and fuel filters are about $55 every 10,000miles. How tragic...

Yep, my conclusion after driving a diesel for 5 yrs that the 'additional' maintenance and all of that was inconsequential. But you still hear people bring it up all the time!

That said, you also hear that the diesels will be so much more fuel efficient. Also wasn't the case, at least w/ my LBZ Duramax. Of course, I didn't buy it to be a fuel sipper!

I just did 1350miles round trip from kck to Cincinnati area and managed 21.4mpg (truck is deleted) over the entire trip. Cruise control set at 77, 2.5" lift, 20s with 35s and a loaded truck. Before the lift and wheels/tires I could've squeezed 25+ out of it, but I digress. My eco was a mpg gettin sob too, but that was out west with great air temps and flatlands. Never got to use it out here.
