Default How to clean plat/limited brushed wheels?

After having shown off my CL wheels find...

What is the best way to keep the brushed aluminum wheels like the platinum and limited clean and polished? I have only had chrome or painted wheels in the past. So be specific as to what you recommend...

They are clearcoated so you don't have to worry about polishing them unless you absolutely want to. Normal cleaning with good car soap and water should be enough. If you want to go that extra mile, treat it just like you paint and you can wax them too since they are clear coated.

First get a coat of wax on them or seal them. It makes washing easier down the line. Sonax Full Effect wheel cleaner is tops but spendy. I usually reserve it for my full detail I do twice a year.

I paid 1200 for wheels and tires...Really happy with that. Guy that sold them to me had another guy offer 500 over that but he stuck with me since we had already agreed and I was on the way to pick them up. He was very nice about it. Not sure if he is a member here or not but if so thanks again for sticking with me...

I cleaned my Plat wheels today. Took a Mothers' PowerCone and Meguiars Ultimate Compound to them. The swirl marks I thought were in the clearcoat are actually in the aluminum beneath the CC.

Regardless the hour I spent doing all 4 wheels was worth it. They are so smooth now and are coated in two applications of Meguiars Ultimate Syn Liquid wax. I like the way they came out.
