How bad did Ford exec's also hate Sync?
Saw this - interesting read. I guess the execs hated it as well. You can't tell me they still can't at least fix the software bugs, but at this point they don't seem to care. https://www.yahoo.com/news/ford-ceo-...151220018.html

It's worse than people think, but all cars and trucks are always behind phones and or tablets only because they want a proprietary infotainment system. For more reasons other then just forcing you to come back to the dealer, it's also about "preventing uncontrolled issues with support of third party apps"
In the end you need 10+ years of testing to really get things polished for a vehicle and then again it all depends on the UI / UX speed of the CPU, memory, usability is everything in my business. We have a long long way to go, even in super high end cars, they still do not have it squared away.
We are getting closer, but as long as it's a semi closed source system, we have a ways to go, to get a polished refined well thought out bug limited system. IMHO we would be better off with a interface connection to a tablet, preferably Android, with a anti-glare screen.
I'm a so called technology expert and I just try to ignore the technology in the truck and enjoy the rest of the overall vehicle or it would drive me crazy and I would rip everything out and start over. Honestly that would be a very bad idea, so don't do it if you are still under warranty. If you aren't under warranty and you don't mind spending money you have tons of better options that do interface with our trucks perfectly, you can even do this in very old vehicles, so you have options.

I may be the odd one out, but I have been pleased with the MFT System in my 13 Lariat. It works much better than the system in my wife's Nissan Armada for sure.
