Is this a joke? My 2 year old twin turbo V8 BMW goes through a quart every 1,000. My V10 Audi does the same. A quart every 2k miles with 130,000 on the clock isn’t too bad.

Some engines are tighter than others on oil consumption. Just keep em full.

128,xxx on my 11 with the 5.0. Besides the recent issue with the IWE ($46 fix), zero problems and the truck is driven hard. Not babied and not highway miles.

Not a joke, my dad's Lexus doesn't use a drop and it's a second hand 2006. I've read of European cars like yours with oil consumption issues too, but the manufacturers claim its normal. IMO if a engine uses excess oil there is a design flaw or mechanical problem. No reason the consumer should be constantly checking and topping off the oil between oil changes.

Sonata, 240000 miles, zero extra quarts added.
F150 5.0, 104000 so far, zero extra added except last month when the pan gasket leaked. (fixed now)

Default Watch out. Some ppl get lucky, some don’t with those

I bought a 2011 3.5 Eco-boost scew 4x4 brand new. I babied it, had it serviced on the reg, etc. It had 85k on it and started “limping” on me one day. I “limped” it into the dealership, they said both timing chains had stretched and toasted my turbos. $7k to repair it. I asked why the first time I hear about the issue is when it gernades. They had no come back.

They however did take very good care of me. They gave me a great deal on a new truck and full value for my old truck (with a toasted motor) I left happy, but I went with the 5.0 on my new one. It’s ok, but not as fun to drive, I loved that eco-boost torque...

Is getting an 11 5.0 worth paying the extra over my current 5.4? It would shed some miles off and give me a crew fx4 instead of a super cab xlt

That question is dependent on your financial stability and your personal truck needs.

Me personally, if I didn't actually need it, then no. It is never financially worth it switching vehicles.
