How bad are the 2011 EcoBoost and 5.0?
#11
I have a 5.0 with 136k on it and it has been trouble free. Knock on wood. The only complaint I have is the oil consumption, having to add a quart about every 2k miles. The oil consumption has become more noticeable after about 100k. I can't understand why American auto companies can't produce and sustain a tight engine. How many miles does the 5.0 have on it?

Not a joke, my dad's Lexus doesn't use a drop and it's a second hand 2006. I've read of European cars like yours with oil consumption issues too, but the manufacturers claim its normal. IMO if a engine uses excess oil there is a design flaw or mechanical problem. No reason the consumer should be constantly checking and topping off the oil between oil changes.

Sonata, 240000 miles, zero extra quarts added.
F150 5.0, 104000 so far, zero extra added except last month when the pan gasket leaked. (fixed now)

Watch out. Some ppl get lucky, some don’t with those
I bought a 2011 3.5 Eco-boost scew 4x4 brand new. I babied it, had it serviced on the reg, etc. It had 85k on it and started “limping” on me one day. I “limped” it into the dealership, they said both timing chains had stretched and toasted my turbos. $7k to repair it. I asked why the first time I hear about the issue is when it gernades. They had no come back.
They however did take very good care of me. They gave me a great deal on a new truck and full value for my old truck (with a toasted motor) I left happy, but I went with the 5.0 on my new one. It’s ok, but not as fun to drive, I loved that eco-boost torque...

Me personally, if I didn't actually need it, then no. It is never financially worth it switching vehicles.
