Default How to add tranny fluid?

I have figured out how to check the tranny fluid, but I cannot add any...Any help with past experience? I noticed a leak around the pan in the rear, and I tightened the bolts all the way around. It seems to have fixed the problem (at least temporarily), but I now cannot figure out how to add fluid. I tried to add to the check port, but short of getting a pump, I cannot add fluid.

That's what the book says, but I can assure you that there is a dipstick. It is on the passenger side of the transmission right by your catalytic convertor (and pretty tough to get to without burning your hand). It takes a 19mm wrench, and you actually pull the dipstick out of the bolt/tube that holds it in place. This is on a 2010 model.

Why would your transmission fluid level be down? Your vehicle is less than 2 years old.

He needs more fluid because he had a small leak from his pan that he corrected.

Get yourself a small fluid hand pump and pump the fluid in the hole the dipstick came out of. That's how I refilled the transfer case in my last truck. Most auto part stores carry them.

Very likely the bulkhead plug. O-Rings on inside of this wear out easily, causing leak. Known TSB at Ford.
