How 2 turn off interior dome and map lights when doors are open??

My 2014 5.0 xlt interior lights won't shut off or stay off when I open my doors. I had a 2005 xlt and I was able to keep the interior lights off when my doors were open. Does anyone know of a fix or anything I'm missing on this issue. Any help or info is appreciated thanks. I've tried holding the dim switch and double clicking it and the lights still turn on when I open the doors..

Dome light should have an off switch on it, mine does.
Or you could try to have "police mode" activated at your dealership

Only thing I know of is going around and pushing in all the plastic door latches in the door.

Had to do this at the drive in last summer, pain in the ass.

My dome light in the back seat has no button. The dome light in the back seat has two map lights on each side of the dome light which only turn on with a switch but the middle rear dome light and the 2 front map lights always turn on when doors open.

Then you'll be looking to have the police mode option activated by the dealer

The police mode would solve the problem? And what exactly is this police mode. What else will this mode adjust?

I think the real name is "dark mode" or "police dark mode"

Does a few things concerning the lights, one of them being lights stay off when opening the door. I forget what else it does
