Check plugs, injectors, air box/filter tire pressure, manifold leaks etc. etc. I can also tell you that after I have loaded new tunes or have even done a KAM reset, I've seen those low fuel economy numbers for a couple hundred miles then it corrects itself...

Like others have said try the basics. Tire pressure, air filter, spark plugs, clean air sensors, etc.

You can do the wheel bearing yourself as well if you are semi handy. It's only bolts.

yes it does. It still reads gas is being burned but zero miles are being put on.
Next time you fill up, reset the meter and park in a spot at the gas station and let it sit and idle and watch the mpg go to 0.

I typically get <10MPG on my trip home from the gas station. There are 6 traffic lights and a couple of big hills in the course of a few miles. Add some highway miles and it should even out.

Find a stretch of highway where you can maintain your speed for a while, maybe set your cruise control. Reset your Instant MPG as your rolling along. Then watch it. Of course road conditions, weather, etc. will make it vary. It should give you a better idea of what you're getting while your cruising.

This ^^^^.

Drive at 55 MPH on a flat road, reset, and watch. Should get 18-20 depending on temperature and whether you have winter gas.

Then accelerate to 65 and reset and watch.

Then accelerate to 75 and reset and watch.

Yeah, just don't be *too* disappointed the farther you get from 55 MPH.
