I can definitely feel the hidden panel but I don't have the lighted visor. I guess I will have to remove the visor to see if there is a plug. If necessary, I will look for the camera instructions.

Thanks

If you have one, you can pull the whole sunglasses overhead light assembly down and run your hand to see if the headliner harness has those plugs for the visor lights. Use those. If not, I'd probably use the power to to the overhead light.

I will take a look this weekend. I found the rear camera thread but haven't had a chance to look through it.

Thanks

I didn't have the lighted visors, they aren't made like the lighted ones where the rod is hollow, found out after destroying my visor to see how to get the wiring back through the visor and into the roof! So I couldn't be beaten by this so I took some romex I had laying around and used a single strand of #14 solid wire, this is stiff enough to feed from the map lights over to the visors, tied the #18 wire I was going to use for the visors to it and pulled it through the headliner. Did all of this so I didn't need to remove anymore than I had too, plastic never seems to go back the same after you pull it apart! Cutoff factory connectors on mirrors and installed new ones, basically connected the two visors together electrically and spliced from them into the map lights. Don't forget when working with the doors open your dome light times out and the relay shuts the power off, the lights and homelink won't work (this freaked me out), close and open the door or turn your dome lights to on!

Not wanting to screw anything up more......I splurged and bought the visor w/ homelink and a matching pass/side w/ lighted mirror! Didn't want to mess another visor up!

Tasca doesn't have them listed for the 2010 for some reason, look under 2009!

got mine in today and got it installed. Works great and looks great. A word to the wise. The one I got below DID NOT FIT the visor. The viser has a panel that is held in place by tabs that you have to break to insert the unit. I discovered that this one I purchased was 1/2 inch longer than the recess for the homelink. SO.....I took a dremmel tool with a plastic cutting wheel and lengthened the tray to hold this unit. I was set back for a second and thought that I would have to order another but I made this one fit. Since you press the buttons and the force forces the homelink deeper into the visor, there's no risk of puching this thing out and it was pretty firmly in there after I made the modification. So if you don't have the skills to widen the hole, Get the shorter homelink module that is in the link on the first page. I don't know what this one came out of, I just wanted the record feature and the color matched the 2010 well. I'm a happy camper now! Not sure how many memos this holds but I was able to record 5 different ones.

For those who did this 2 questions..

1 - Did you have a problem pulling the visor fabric apart ? Do you just pull it apart on the end and roll it back to expose the slot for the home link?

2 - I got my homelink of ebay. It has a black and white wire from it. Is the black ground and white - positive?

Looks great - Thank you..

The visor is basically two pieces that have teeth that grab the fabric. You are better off if you can pull the pieces apart and then lift the fabric off of the teeth. Don't be afraid to pry them apart but don't use anything that can snag on it. I ended up putting a rag over a plastic putty knife.

Yes black ground, white positive. There is more than enough wire in the visor to fish them directly to the Homelink unit and slide them in the blade connectors on the unit. That way you don't have to worry about any connections comming loose.

I wedged a screwdriver between the plastic parts and pulled out the lining with a tweezer a little at at time as to not warp the plastic (it has to go back together so be careful not to pry too much). I didn't pull mine apart. I was afraid it would warp the plastic or the pins holding it together woulnd go back together. Unzip the fabric like you would a dogfood bag or feed bag. It's easy to take the main thread out. Peel back the cloth. The newer models are difficult because of a plastic piece where the visor unhooks from the headliner. Just work it back enough to remove the plastic cover over the tray that holds the unit. I used a combination of a razor blade and a kitchen knife to reach in further.

Once you have the lighted mirror off, you can wedge a screw driver between the plastic parts where the wiring come in for the mirror and run the two wires there. I soldered mine in line by removing some of the wiring plastic. Didn't need to cut the wire. Then wrapped it in electrical tape. Test your unit by plugging it in to see if the homlink red LED works. If it does, then use a wide screwdriver to push the fabric into the crevice. One side at at time. I tried to do both at the same time and it didn't work. I say wide screwdriver because a smaller one will push through the fabric. Just take your time and keep clean hands as to not get the visor dirty.
