Default Home-made raptor style grille lights

So, I am attempting to make some raptor style grille lights for my truck.
Materials so far:

-Amber LED's from China (3$ for 4 of them cause they only come in packs of 2).
-Aluminum strip from Canadian Tire (4$)
-Some screws and nuts (4$)
-Black rustoleum pain (already had it)

I'll keep the progress coming..

Drilled some holes in the aluminum bar...

Bolted the amber LEDs to the bar

Bolted the amber LEDs to the bar...

A little shot of black rustoleum on the aluminum bar.

Planning on mounting it on 2 of the 5 grille screws, lines up perfectly with the grille as-is. Was thinking of passing the wires under the hood guard down to the passenger side light housing and splicing it into the running lights. Any better suggestions?

a few hours and about $25 in parts, here is the result.
The LED's are a little more "red" than I'd like, thought they were more amber like the DRL's, I might have to swap them out at some point... I think it looks pretty good for a DIY

Whatdya think?

That looks awesome. All you guys made me want them so I did the same and made my own. Used emergency vehicle Amber led's made by tecniq I purchased off eBay with the vertical mount. Then mounted them flush in the grill so it looks factory like the raptor. LOVE THE LOOK BA!!!!
The Amber is actually a lot closer to the factory parking lights than the pic looks.

Default Nice post !

Sweet .... Nice job they look great .... I made my own as well , I already had the scrap metal and wiring . The lights were 8.00 per 4 on ebay ... Exact same ones that a company sells for $64.95 .... But I guess if you dont want to do anything but fabricate some brackets and run wire they are good kits , still pretty costly for what they are ....Great job and a nice write up too boot
