Default Hit by a Semi in my new 2013 FX4 (5 weeks old)

Well, I got taken out sort of, by a semi.

So the scene is this. He had pulled out of a truck stop, and crossed over into the left lane of a road with two eastbound lanes. I was on the same road and in the right hand lane so as he crossed in front of me, i proceeded to pass him as he was going slow (5-10mph).

As I pull almost even with his cab, he makes an abrupt right hand turn (from the left lane) to re enter a 2nd entrance to the same truck stop.

I was going probably 30 or so, but my only choice was to floor it and swerve onto the curb/grass. I almost cleared him and then I heard the contact and felt the impact. Had I tried to stop, he would have caved in the whole side of my truck.

Here is the damage first to his truck, then to mine.

Snapped his push bar off at one of the mounting brackets.

The only thing I can see on mine is the bumper looks like it is maybe a little farther out (circled) by 1/2" at most than on the other side.

It was night, I looked and looked for the damage. The sound told be the whole rear quarter was crushed. But there was nothing. I took it and washed it the next morning looking for damage, nothing.

I can even find a scratch in the paint or bumper where I made impact with his push bar.

Still waiting on the police report, sure they are going to find him at fault, although he said he thought I was letting him turn. I dont think he even knew I was there... How could he know I was there and still turn, contact was inevitable.

Taking it to a body shop to have it checked, but I dont think they will find anything to fix.

So yeah, I guess I won't even need to buff it out.

Not one of your finer thoughts. Think about what you said. I mean sure, the guy should've been paying more attention, but most truckers are the safest people on the road. Not only that, most everything you have came from a truck that hauled it.

Semi trucks should have their own dedicated roads that all lead off cliffs and into volcanoes. Sorry to hearbabout your truck.

Damm that's a tough F150. Just a little bumper damage but you took out his whole push bar...on a semi no less.
