High quality black lug nut
As the title says, I'm looking for a very high quality black security lug nut for my truck.
Any suggestions? |
I have these.

The problem I had when trying to replace the lug nuts was all after market ones had a smaller surface area where it clamps to the wheel. I just sent them back. I just use Napa ones when needed. I would like to find a solution though.

Gorilla lugs are about the best on the market, have a set on my truck only chrome, they do make black.

If you have the OEM wheels, they like to have a lug nut with the big shoulder. I had a real tough time finding anything to replace the OEM crap nut. After a long search, ended up buying the Gorilla 61108CXL (chrome), also available in black chrome.
I have yet to find a locker nut with the big shoulder. Have seen a few guys running the smaller diameter nut, but IMO, it's not the right fit. (on OEM wheels) |
I don't suppose you could post a pic of the oem+gorilla side by side ?

Pic 1,....crappy OEM lug nut with the chrome sleeve compared to the solid chrome Gorilla. # 2...also includes a thin/small shoulder nut that will barely hold the OEM wheel on 3...width of the shoulder is about 1-1/8" 4...nuts installed on Ford wheel (yes a little dirty except the one I took off for pics) Rnlcomp....you are using your nuts on aftermarket wheels. Those nuts look like they would almost fall through the hole of the OEM wheel.?? . |
Good comparison. So there is no solution for Ford OEM wheels it seems.

. When purchasing the lugs, they didn't ask if I had aftermarket wheels, they simply asked what kind of vehicle I wanted them for. . |
