Default High end speaker replacement

Anyone have any suggestions? This is way out of my realm of expertise. I need something with extremely crisp, clear sound and do not need the bass of a 17 year old high school kid. I have the sony sub and MFT in my 2014 KR. Hopefully you audio gurus out there can help me out. Every time i play music on the Bose system in my house I get pissed that the sound quality in my truck sucks *****. Thanks.

Opinions on sound quality can be very subjective. I think whatever you decide on, will be an improvement over the factory speakers. I swapped mine out for Hertz speakers and I love them. I've been spoiled by Dynaudio systems in previous Volvo's, so sound quality was really important to me.

Good Luck

I do appreciate it. It's tough because on most things I know the reputable brands and can steer myself in the right direction. I have NO clue for audio stuff.

Polk audio. Kicker. MB quart, Rockford fosgate, alpine all make top notch car audio equipment.

I have had Focal and Boston Acoustic components in my last 2 trucks before this one and was pleased with both. The above mentioned brands are all good, but I wouldn't buy the cheap end of the spectrum with them. They all make a 'value' line that while sounds good, I don't think it's what you are looking for.

What exactly do you mean by "high end"? Lots of good speakers out there, but i wouldnt consider anything that has been mentioned in this thread, with the exception of hertz, to be high end. What is your budget? Are you adding an amp?

If you're running the Sony system and want to swap to a nice set of Component speakers you might also want to check into adding an amplifier to power them. They factory sony AMP is not going to be enough power to do a nice set of components justice.

If you're just wanting an upgrade from the factory 6x8 or 5x7, just put a nice set of drop-in coaxial speakers.

Also adding an amp to the factory sony system will come with another set of problems. You will probably need to add something like the JL audio cleansweep or Audiocontrol LC6 to feed a clean signal to your new amp.

I had previously installed kicker components, however removed them as they were far too easy to overheat. Now I have spyder tarantulas and they are incredible
