Default HID's and Daytime Running lights - need help?

Just purchased a set of Beamer H13 6000K HID Lights, and in reading the instructions over - they may need some relays in order to run the daytime running lights? This simple install suddenly turns into a not so simple install. My question is can I eliminate daytime running lights from running on the headlights and switch it to the park (orange) lamps some how? From what I have read the daytime running lights are the lowbeams on a reduced wattage, and that the problem with putting HID's on is that the wattage is too low to excite the bulb consistently - so you get a flickering look while running daytime running lights. I guess a cheap and easy fix is to leave the lights on all the time? Anyone offer any advise before I jump into this install?

I was looking into putting HID's on my 09 Screw. After some research and contacting a manufactuer the same problem resulted. The DRL modual has to be removed. As far as using the park lights as a DRL it might be very difficult to wire up, concidering all the electronics and interconnections of the system. Another item is the legal issue of not having DRL's funcioning. Im not sure if Alberta requires the DRL I know Ontario does. This may or may not be a concern for you.
I was concidering HID's for my 09 Screw so I put the question out. One of the members gave me a very informative response. Check this link

If you want functionality and better light I'd skip the HID's. If you want looks then spend the money.
Hope this gives you some help.

I just put 8000k's hid headlights and fogs on my 05 KR and had the same problem so i pulled the relay under the hood, but when i turn on the fogs the highbeam light turns on.

Hopefully we hear from people who have done the HID swap, so we can hear some true testimonial's, not just the retailers telling us they are great! And anyone done the projector beams that are now on ebay - is the light output any better?

Junk it all, and get an OEM HID set up. You won't be happy with anything less (as with oncoming traffic as well)
