HID/ retrofit help!!!
Ok, so I checked the forums for my problem and found similar issues, but I'm hoping my exact problems can narrow down the issue to my truck.
- I have a 2011 f-150 w/ retrofitted non factory HIDs bought from another member. Lights have worked great for a year...in the last week I have noticed that when my truck is in gear I could not turn my headlights on..never had that problem before. So I threw it in park and they cane right on. Ok so next it evolved to my driver side headlight would not come on with my other. I turned off the lights, turn off the truck, restarted and both turned on. 1 day later no lights whatsoever. Parking lights, signals, flashers all work. - ground is good, fuses appear to be good, all connectors plugged in tight and I even checked both ballasts w an extra I had... Any tips..thinking relay or harness but I'm not an electrical guru. Thanks!! |
Sorry I should note before they crapped out completely I got them to kick on by turning the knob on/off quickly but it was for a sec and I can't repeat it.

Any takers?

check your fuses. you may have busted one by turning them on and off quickly. also try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes.

Did both, both appear good I'm going to have another go at it in a bit.

I'm hoping that's it I went through the whole thing tiday and it's all I can possibly think of.. It's one of the mega ones not a little one so it'll have to wait for a trip to the store tomm...thanks for the input though.

Was the relay on the harness...lot easier to go through during the day than at night when you're stranded...thanks all!
