Are you guys stating "real HID" in regards to adding projectors into the housing and HID ballasts and bulbs? I understand the projectors likely add a horizon line to the lights which then reduce brightness to oncoming cars, but in regards to the HID part itself, what do you need to add to the truck on top of the HID bulb and ballasts, I see some people state canbus (not sure correct spelling) and a elminator of some sort and some people are just using one of the two items. If someone can point me in the right direction as the the lighting hardware I need besides the projector itself as I already have a projector for the light that I will be installing. Also, what is everyone running in their fog lights? Same thing on hardware there? I have searched the forum for HID related items, but still am unaware of what I need because of mixed repsonses on other posts. Thanks!

If you're running proper projected hids with a ballast and high beam solenoid than you need a morimoto h13 conversion harness.

Yes I will be adding projectors into my existing headlight housing. So order the Motocontrol Morimoto Retrofit Relay Harness and then I can run any H13 Hi/Lo HID correct?

No then you can run proper HID D2S bulbs or say an H1 kit. You wont be using H13 bulbs if you're using a proper projector.

I hope you don't take offense to this, but based upon your questions, and your subsequent responses, you'd be better off finding a set of OEM HID takeoffs as opposed to performing a retrofit.
That's just my keyboard jockey third-party observation, but it seems like the best course of action in your situation.

Or get one the TRS Kits, and do a full retro now https://www.theretrofitsource.com/co...rsal-kits.html

I get the feeling he wants to run PnP until he can do a retro, or buy a retro pair, just based on his question about the H13 HIDs.

From personal experience, I've been very happy with my conversion kit from XenonSupply. Posted on another forum, but they're legit so I'll post here too.

Definitely go with XenonSupply.

I bought a kit from them for my 2011 F-150 and they ****ing look amazing, been working for 3 years now with no problem. When I was looking into getting HIDs I did a ton of research and price comparisons, and imo the couple of extra bucks are totally worth it just for their customer service on any issue pertaining to HIDs. Called them twice because I had some trouble with my install, and they took the time to guide me through. If you search around they have a reputation on tons of car forums for making sure the customer has an easy install and doing right by the customer.

They even have a 5 year warranty for all their products -- so you know they stand by what they sell. So yeah, awesome company with quality products.

Check it out here: https://www.xenonsupply.com/products...-xenon-package
Xenonsupply is good but I just can't recommend putting HID in a reflector housing designed for a Halogen bulb. I don't care if they put a shield on the bulb. It's still a douche move. If a person doesn't want to shell out for a full retro at least pass on the PNP HID kit and go with one of the higher end LED setups. Philips is starting to produce LED headlight bulb replacements that work well with Halogen reflector housings. They don't have an option for the F150 yet, but I have seen some good designs from other LED makers.

Even if they were projectors, if they came with halogen bulbs, the optics are still not correct for HIDs...
