Default Hesitation / Surging When Cold

Truck is a 2013 F150 5.0. The other night I had my truck parked for about an hour in 55 degree weather and it at operating temperature when parked. I was waiting for my friends to get in their car and I revved it to about 3-4k RPMs just messing around, and I noticed the truck hesitated and then the RPMs went up. If I get in the truck and rev it before it's at operating temperature, it'll bog down before the RPMs rise, and surge a little bit then return to normal. Also if I accelerate slightly harder than grandpa driving it'll hesitate until warmed up.

I'm not sure how long it's been doing this as I remote start the truck 95% of the time before getting in so it's already warm, but I noticed the truck idles a little rough too. Especially if I rev it when it's cold.

No codes are being thrown on my scanner or tuner. MAF looks brand new, unplugged it and it got worse so I don't really think it's the MAF. Air filter gets changed every 10k miles. I replaced the spark plugs at 50k miles, I'm now at 83k miles. Turning on the ac compressor doesn't really change much, maybe slightly worse but that could be due to chance, I only tested it with the ac compressor on once.

In the video I'm pushing the accelerator about halfway.

Any ideas as to what can cause this?

Just loaded up the stock tune for the hell of it and it didn't skip at all. Loaded up my MPT PR-X tune after that and it started running rough again. Weird because I put thousands on that tune with no problem. Guess it's time to do some data logging

Well today I went to data log the PRX tune and then the stock tune and now the stock tune is running the same way. Rough idle and it wants to stall until warm when I give it some throttle.

Any ideas?

When's the last time you changed the spark plugs? I had the same issue with my truck last week. Changing the spark plugs fixed the issue for me

Fuse 27 looks good and I replaced the plugs around 30-35k miles ago. pulled one and it looked fine, gap was like 41 or 42 thousandths so within spec

Pulled onto the highway last night and the check engine light flashed on and off for several seconds and then turned off. Didn't feel any shudder or misfiring. Tried pulling codes with my tuner and nothing, got home and tried pulling stored DTCs and nothing came up. Not sure why they weren't stored...

Plugs on a 5.0 should be around .050, not .040.

Nice catch Spiky. Must have saw the specs for the 6.2 when I looked it up. I'll change the plugs and see if it improves
