HELP! Traction-Stability Control; ABS Slipping/Stalling Issue
2009 F-150 4.6L 2WD
Leveling kit with 20" wheels and 33" tires.
I had the truck for a few months without any issues. Occasionally if I hit a bump while accelerating the traction control and ABS light would flash on the dash and beep once. I thought no big deal that's the traction control kicking in, but it wasn't like any traction control that I've experienced before. Normally traction control will kill the engine temporarily or apply the brakes in vehicles that I've driven. When I have this issue with this truck it throws the transmission into neutral and the rpm's rise. Seems odd to me? It won't grab a gear until the truck comes back to the rpm it was at before the lights flashed on the dash. Is that just how these new Ford's are? Honestly that part I could almost learn to live with. Twice in the last week the same issue happened where I hit a bump, but this time the truck stalled all together. I have been scared since because when the truck stalls the steering and brakes go with it. I'm thinking there must be a bad connection somewhere? Any thoughts this is mind boggling? I thought it would have to do with the leveling throwing the equilibrium off? Also I pulled the traction control/ABS fuse no. 47 and the issue continued. Any input would be much appreciated.
