Oh, also got the key cut at Home Depot with no problems at all. So the reports on Home Depot and Lowe's cutting fine are accurate.

Glad to hear it worked!

Yeah, I am a little puzzled by that as well. Went to a dealer today and looked at the instructions for the stick on keypad. It says to do the 8x on/off procedure. Now after what you reported, I am wondering if that will work. But they do say specifically that if will work for 2011 and later, and they do say in the instructions that if you have the IKT you will NOT need all keys to be present during the procedure. So it probably does work, somehow ....

Did you hear the truck do the lock / unlock thing to confirm being in program mode when you tried the 8x procedure yesterday?

When I did the ignition programing today that worked the truck did the lock/unlock to confirm the programing worked. Yesterday when I did the 8x cycle on/off with one key and then push a button on each of the remote fobs the truck did not lock/unlock to confirm programing worked, HOWEVER the truck did respond with a short horn honk (similar to the honk when remotely locking door confirmation) each time a button was pushed on one of the IKT fobs though the programing was unsuccessful. So the truck did acknowledge or communicate with each fob somehow though it did not program successfully.

Flixden, thanks for the thread on the door sill protectors. I saw that and I'm going to get some of those for the rear doors on my crew cab as well. You are pleased with them I take it?

Yes, I like the protectors. Kids got in and out a few times by now, and they do stay in place.

I just did the 8x on/off thing with my truck for a test. After the 8th time, the locks DID cycle as suggested in the procedure, so I conclude that the keypad MAY be programmed as suggested in the instructions.
I will likely order mine from Tasca parts. Does anybody know how they are with returns?

Got the keypad, and yes, it can be programmed using the 8x on/off procedure for the 2012 just fine. Won't need all fobs in the truck at the time either.

Thanks for the info. Going to try programming my third remote that I got for cheap off eBay. Had it cut today and the key will start the truck after programming, but wouldn't run the door locks. So I'm going to try the 8x trick. I'm really hoping it works. Would like a third key just in case. It'll start it either way, but I'd like to fob buttons to work as well. 2011 f150 ecoboost. Saved 'er from the salvage yard! Wrecked but it's back on the road and looks good as new. Rebuilt with 100% OEM Ford parts. Nothing cheap or aftermarket other than this key fob. Hopefully this won't be the first thing to fail on me!
