*SOLVED* Parking brake pedal will not release
Hi, got a 2014 f150 with the emergency brake that you have to step on the pedal to release
It won't come up and just goes further getting tighter and tighter
Why did they remove the damn release handle on these trucks
i use the e brake almost daily
Currently stuck at a grocery store

I had a brain fart like that several years ago. I was getting ready to back out of my parking space at work, so I reached down to release the parking brake.
The only problem was that my car had an electronic parking brake with a switch on the center console, so what I pulled was the hood release.
I cussed myself, got out, closed the hood, got back into the driver's seat, and, still cussing myself, proceeded to reach down and pull the "brake lever," popping the hood again.
It took an effort of will to not reach down and pull that damned lever a third time...

I have a 2019 5.0 doing this same thing. Now that I see so many of your guys having the same issue, I am not messing with mine. I have a 2016 Mustang that I did an MPR race short block on and have done a ton of other work on other peoples Coyote motors.... I do not trust the dealerships to do any of that stuff lol.
Wow no idea how i ended up posting this comment on this page. Can someone delete it lol

I have the same issue on my 18 5.0 . This truck has been in the shop more than any other vehicle I've ever owned (not just for these issues but a slew of other ones unrelated as well). Had it to the dealer a couple weeks ago for the rattle noise, dealer said they had never heard the noise before and would submit it to ford to see what they say. Never heard back, so I called yesterday and he said ford told them that it was normal. I asked for documentation of my case number, and the service manager said "I'm not playing these games. Take it somewhere else and let them deal with it" and hung up on me. Needless to say I called Ford and opened a case and created a complaint for the dealer. The rep I talked to at Ford corporate also could find no record that the dealer ever submitted anything to them on the issue, so i'm guessing the dealer basically just said f it.
I also have excessive engine noise / valve noise that the dealer is telling me is normal as well. It is not the direct injection noise, which the dealer is saying is what I am hearing.
It's too bad we spend $35-$40k on a truck then get treated like dirt. My 2014 5.0 was great, except that the cab corners rusted out after 5 years, so that's why I got a new 5.0. I'd like to think I could switch brands to Ram or Toyota and be better off, but I think all new trucks have so much tech in them that it is a nightmare if it isn't perfect from day one, and the manufactures just deny deny deny until you go away.
Edit: Well, no clue how this got posted into this thread. Sorry about that.
