Help with an offer on Platinum..

The FX4 doesn't have the new-for-2012 AWD transfer case.... Other than that, it is the truck I like best.

True, however an ecoboost 373 platinum starts at 50K! An FX4 so equipped starts at 41K. Thats 9K of bling and profit that is easily avoidable. Another thing to avoid in the F150 is the 20 in rims they make for an unnecesarily jarring ride witout any performance improvement. Personally the only thing that comes standard on the Platinum that I would have liked is the perforated leather and the back seat with an arm rest, now, those are otional on the FX4.

You added to the incorrect info you're so eager to pass along with this post...the FX4 does have perforated leather seats as an option now but the rear arm rest is still reserved for Lariat and above trim levels. By the way, that $2325 package that you need to add to the FX4 to get those leather seats you reference takes a big chunk out of that $9000 price difference (oh and adds quite a bit of what some would consider "bling").

It's a matter of opinion to the buyer as to what's unnecessary bling and what are desired options. Ford has numerous trim levels for people who want different levels of options. I was just pointing out the incorrect information you posted. Regardless of whether one trim level costs $9000 more than the other, they both tow the same which you incorrectly said they did not.

My 2012 Platinum 4x4 stickered at 54,450. I got it for 43,450 with three free oil changes.
There are a lot of things you can do to help you with the price. Ford Financing (even if you want to pay cash, finance it, then pay it off during the first payment) will save you $1000, Trade in allowance, etc.

The sticker price for my platinum, ecoboost, 3.55 electronic rear axle, 7200# gvwr package, 36 gallon fuel tank, skid plates, power moonroof, tailgate step, sony navigation radio, etc... was $53,960 paid $43,350 + TTL.. seeing some of the prices posted here i feel like i got shafted.. either way i'm loving the truck. with the 60k mile bumper to bumper warranty (pretty pointless but i got them to throw it in)
I don't think the truck has "unnecessary bling", my only dislike of the vehicle is the weak reverse lights and the actual navigation setup, the nav could be better but definitely prefer it over the traditional lariat package non digital display package.
