Well here is my 2011 xlt, has 13 fx4 grille, fx4 heads and tails, overlays, emblems, 275-65-20 duratracs with bilstein level and fuel octanes. Looking for ideas to take it next level for decent prices, keep in mind I'm 23 years old and saving up for down payment for a house hah I want to do something to my bumpers, either powdercoat or line-x maybe, I wonder if they have powdercoat that would match the race red good or maybe just black would be the way to go. And i know i need to either match my handles or make them black as well but its hard with them being chrome :/
Thanks

I love the truck and it's mostly cause I have the Race Red color as well. You getting that grill compared to your old chrome one has made me definitely want to get the black/Race Red combo up front as well.

As for the bumpers, I would be kind of interested to see what it would look like if you did Line-X on them cause I know that doing the powdercoating would probably be kind of pricey and it would be hard to match them to the Race Red color in my opinion, but I could be wrong!

Overall, I think the truck looks good and keep it going cause you are only giving me more good ideas for my truck as well! By the way, your truck is a 4WD, correct?

Ha thanks man! Guy in my town does powdercoating for way good prices!! And I'm not really sure how much lineX costs but I thinks it a little high. I kind of like the chrome bumpers some times but others I just want it to be different. I think black may be the way to go tho

Your truck looks great! Good job on the mods.

I've also looked into both using Line-X and powder coating my bumpers. Looking closer at pictures of the Line-X, I ruled it out for my consideration. Powder coat or PTM would be the way to go. PTM you can do yourself w/ the right materials.

With your color scheme, you could plasti-dip your bumpers as a stop-gap. Especially with your color motif...I did mine (doing a white/black theme) and it looks so much better just having the chrome gone.

Because your handle buckets are black, you could definitely PTM them black. Very easy project and they turn out looking pretty damn good. If you were to paint the buckets red, then you could do the handles red as well. Seems much easier to just get a set of stainless handle covers ($20) off ebay and do them black. Either way, the chrome has got to go.

Maybe get one of those small black grilles off Amazon or wherever and mount it where your license plate holder is? If you need a front plate, pick up an Ecoboost offset mount and move the plate over to the side.

Yea I think I may plastidip just to see how I like the black look! Maybe even the colored line x red might look good too. And I actually bought some of those stainless ones but with the chrome handles already I don't think you can use them cuz they don't seem to fit right :/ but I thought of red handles with the black buckets but idk. And ill look into those little grilles too!

Yeah, as long as you bought the right ones they'll fit. I had the chrome handles on my '12 Lariat and they fit pretty well right over top. A little bit of the chrome will still show but it's not noticeable unless you're standing over top of the handles and looking down.

I'd be a bit leery of the colored Line-X. My worry would be the accuracy of the color match. Plasti-dip those bumpers; it'll look great right away and it's cheap.

Well yep just went and messed with them and it looks like they'll fit alright! So ill work on that and plastidip my bumpers when it gets a hair warmer out!

Yeah, that thread by tko_818 was a big help. You'll like the end result, you've just got to figure out the color match to your black buckets.

Oh and if you do the bumpers w/ plasti-dip, maybe do the tow hooks as well.
