Help/info needed for backup camera installation.
Hello everyone,
I'm new here with a new-to-me 2010 F150. I'm trying to install a backup camera, I seem to have a fairly unique setup, and I've gotten to a point where I need some help/clarification. Hopefully you guys can help me out.
My truck is a crew cab Lariat, with Sync, Sony audio, and navigation, so it has the big touchscreen in the dash. Oddly enough though, it has no backup camera or sensors.
I bought the backup camera/tailgate handle off of Crutchfield, and have it wired to turn on from the reverse light power. I ran the video cable up to the front, which is a standard yellow male RCA video connector, only to find that there's no obvious video connection. I know about Lockpick, but it's $300, and I've heard about the wiring harness that has the connector back at the tail lights for a backup camera.
So my questions are:
Is it time to start doing some splicing? (I photocopied wiring diagrams at my local Ford dealership, so they might help)
-or-
Will the $90 taillight harness (plus dealer reflash) let the RCA cable plug right in? Or splice in, which I'm very comfortable with doing myself.
-or-
Or do I suck it up and dish out $300 for Lockpick to take care of it all.
Thanks guys for any help. I don't want to add any monitors, seeing as the dash touchscreen should be able to easily accommodate this, but who knows. Let me know if you need more info/clarification on anything.

Also, if anyone happens to have pics of the taillight/backup camera harness, I'd love to see them so I can compare it to what I have and see what the camera connection looks like.
