I started using these instead of normal crimp butt splices. Seem to do a better job of sealing.

Any suggestions on the best way to cut the openings in the read bumper for these lights? Do I have to remove bumper to do so?

Measure, tape off where they are center, measure again, adjust tape as necessary, measure once more to make sure you are center, step back and observe you hit center mark, measure one more time just to be sure. I definitely recommend removing the bumper to do this. I'm sure you can do it without removing the bumper but you'll have a lot easier platform to work with if you remove the bumper. Id use an angle grinder because I am really good with an angle grinder and cutting wheels but you could use whatever method of cutting you are most comfortable with.

Edit: I would measure, tape and observe while the bumper is still mounted on the truck so that you can be sure you are centered with the bumper mounted, would definitely remove bumper to do the cutting though. Just my two cents

I tried to wire mine to the trailer harness reverse switch and would get intermittent beeps from the backup sensors. Annoyed me so much, I disconnected it. I have the same auxiliary lights. I ended up adding deutsche connectors to the bare wires and ran to a fused relay in an auxiliary fuse panel under the hood and connected it all to Ford OEM superduty switches. Never had a single stray beep since. I also have the advantage of using the lights only when I need them.

If you go with a switched circuit put the switch where you can easily see it and make sure the switch illuminates when on. Law enforcement does not look kindly on folks with rearward facing lights going down the road with them on. Been there, done that and have the ticket to prove it. "I forgot they were on" didn't work.

Greenlee makes rectangle, round, rectangular punch equipment that will punch a perfect hole with the proper dimensions. The equipment is quite pricey, but if you know an electrician, they may be able to offer some support.

I cut mine without removing bumper. Measured about 35 times, cut out using a dremel and cutting wheels. Went very slowly so not to mess things up. Wired into trailer harness reverse lights. Hardest part was starting cutting very stressful.

Step #1. Go with KustomFx light switch panel and wiring!! I did and would do it again without question. I have no connection with the owner/designer other than being a 100% committed customer for life. The best quality ever and fully available for questions and advise. As far as mounting the lights, we did mine while the bumper was still mounted. Taped off with blue painters tape, measured several times, traced the provided template, then cut with a die grinder and cutoff wheels. Turned out great. I will post pics ASAP.
