My sunroof is stuck open. We cannot get the glass out because it's stuck open. We tore the interior apart to use the sunroofdr kit but ran into the fact that we cannot get the sunroof glass out because it's in the open position

Unhook the motor and you should be able to manually slide it

How do I go about that? we couldn't see a way to getting to anything without starting to take apart rivets. My buddy was a mechanic at a ford dealer and we got to a point where he didn't feel comfortable anymore so we put it all back together.

on an older sunroof I had there was a slot where you could manually crank open it. can you grab the tracks and move them opposite each other?

Ok, so we were able to get it apart again and take the glass out. We had to dismount the motor which allowed the cables and the sunroof to slide then 4 torx bolts and it was out.

Problem fixed!!!

Rick @ sunroofdr is a great guy to chat with about his product and installation tips. If you have any sense of mechanical ability, a phillips screw driver, torx 20 and torx 47, 7mm, 8mm, 13mm, 15mm, drill, and a rivet gun you can fix your own sunroof.
