Default Help! Fuel pressure sensor

I’m needing some help guys . I got a 2009 Ford F-150 4.6 2wd that was told needs a new fuel pressure sensor . I have watched YouTube and googled and still can’t find where it is located. Some say fuel rail and others say ontop of tank??? If anyone could help me would be greatly appreciated.

or if anyone has any ideas what this could be ?? Truck just died on me . Changed fuel pump, starter, plugs and injectors and Checked fuses. When it starts it tries to keep starting while it’s started before it dies . Thanks in advanced

On my 2012 with the 5.0 the fuel pressure sensor is located on top of the fuel tank, in one of the fuel line assemblies. There are two line assemblies and its on one of them. It may be called the "vapor tube assembly" or "fuel feed tube assembly" when you look up the parts. If you go to a Ford dealer, make sure to quote 3 of your nearby dealerships if possible, as their pricing will be different.

I can't remember if the 2009 4.6 are affected by the Fuse 27 (fuel pump) modification, but look into that. Even though the fuse may not be blown, the terminals of the fuse will fail due to current, and your fuel pump won't get any juice. You can find some youtube videos showing the failures of fuse 27.

Check your fuel pump driver/module. It's located up near the spare tire. It has a metal back that corrodes and allows water in. They changed it to a plastic back in 2011.

You're confusing the fuel tank pressure sensor, part of the evaporative emissions system, with something else.

Could be. Keep it on the list of suspects.

Put your key in the ignition (don’t turn key) leave your door open and listen for the fuel pump. If you don’t hear it, look into fuse 27 like mentioned above.

If you do hear it then it’s not a fuel delivery issue. Possibly a spark or air issue

You have to actually turn the key to RUN or START in order for the fuel pump to be activated....

Not in my 2011. As soon as I put my key in, the fuel pump primes.

my quick google search shows on a 4.6 the fuel rail pressure sensor (rock auto has it under fuel injection pressure sensor) is on the driver side fuel rail toward the front, between the 2nd and 3rd cylinders it appears. It uses a 4 pin electrical connector, looks to also have a vacuum line.

Sounds like you're gonna blow the barrel out of your parts cannon here soon

Cursory Google searches too often result in faulty results and conclusions. Go read the thread that I linked to in post #4.
